One of my goals with Cool Site of the Day is to shine a light on all the cool websites since the beginning of cyber time.
Cool Site of the Day has featured a unique site every day since August of 1994…over 6,000 sites and counting!
I’m quite adept at using social media and I obsess over things like search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM/PPC — I’m Google Adwords Qualified and am one of only .5% with direct access to Google corporate). For a list of my top 40 Web tools, click here.
As for my approach to Internet marketing and SEM, the following quote says it all:
“That which is measured improves. That which is measured and reported improves exponentially.” (Pearson’s Law found on Mark Joyner’s excellent project management tool, Simpleology)
More background
In 1993, I was the first person to promote music on the Internet for the major record labels (via bulletin boards and primitive websites!). After 5 years working for the music industry, I bought Cool Site of the Day (1998).
I have been quoted in several online and offline publications including The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal and am usually available for interviews and speaking engagements.
Let’s Work Together
As I recently told a client, it doesn’t matter WHAT your idea is, all that matters is that you build content around keywords FOR WHICH PEOPLE ARE SEARCHING. So, what are YOUR keywords?? Which ones are getting traffic and, MOST IMPORTANTLY, for which of those keywords do you have a chance of appearing on PAGE 1 of Google??
If you do decide to contact me for a consultation, know that we will FOCUS on keyword research INTENSELY (believe me, it will save you hours/days/months/years of heartbreak). THEN, you will know if your idea has a shot; if not, I will likely redirect you towards a more lucrative path.
How I spend my free time
Other than my business life, I’m also:
Hoping our paths cross one way or another,

]]>“Mike Corso is incredible. Our heads hurt from the number of good ideas to track down after consulting with him for 30 minutes. Thanks, Mike!” -Jake, piclits.com
“Thanks for your insight and site evaluation. We have moved from PR3 to PR5 on one of our main landing pages thanks to you. We are on our way up thanks to your professional evaluation and valuable input. We have not implemented all of your suggestions as we have a small staff here. Thanks Again!” - Bruce Richards
“Mike Corso will show you the proper way of doing things. There is no hidden agenda, just pure information and action. You must be sleeping at the wheel if you do not get on board with Mike and his ‘Crazy Train’!!” -David A.
“Keep up the good work. You really have a winner of a site, and what a way to help new sites generate the traffic they need when they first launch.“ — John H.
Today's Cool Site of the Day (12/12) boldly declares the death of Facebook.
Canvas, an innovative start up out of Los Angeles, has launched an ambitious campaign that puts Facebook in its crosshairs. Canvas incorporates a concept it calls your “central identity,” or “Ci,” which is essentially a single identity for all of your social media communication. By incorporating a range of features, including audio call, video call, and private message, together with several of the most commonly used means of sharing content, you will be able to communicate in all the same ways you're used to, but with the convenience of only one identity to manage and only one service to sign into.

Of course, I do not recommend that you spend any money on these products unless you understand the value they deliver and you actually put them to use to build your online business :)
Here's what happens when Improv Everywhere finds a four-foot tall ledge in Midtown Manhattan and decided to put a suicide jumper on it. A police officer, fireman, and the man’s wife and co-worker all arrive on the scene to talk him down. This is a newly remastered video from the project they did in 2005.
Hilarious.
]]>If you watched 60 Minutes last week you saw a very moving segment about some very special people helping the very poor along the western coast of Africa. Their vessel is the Mercy Ship...sure would be nice if the local TV news would cover stories like this.
The 'Cool Site of the Day' for 2/21 is A VC, Fred Wilson's insightful blog about the high tech venture capital world. A great read for business lovers of all kinds.
Thank you, MB, for giving rise to this comedic moment.
]]>Is Your Credit Report Wrong?
According to this week's report on 60 Minutes, there are 40 million credit report mistakes out there! That's a pretty sick number considering that 200 million Americans have been 'scored'. That's a 20% error rate!
If you have any questions about what a credit score entails, check out today's 'Cool Site of the Day' and excellent resource, CreditScoreResource.com

I'm a sucker for Internet radio sites. My favs are Spotify and Pandora. Too early to know if 8tracks will rise to the top but I like what I see and hear so far.
Have a great weekend,
